Book, music and lyrics by
Terrence Atkins and Jeffery Lyle Segal

Welcome to my website -- where you can share my passion for bringing new musicals to life!
I started  as a musical theater  performer at age 13.  I trained and worked as an actor, director and singer.  Then I started writing songs in my early 20's.  I worked as a  makeup artist in theater and film, and sometimes casting director, before turning to a non-theatrical career in permanent cosmetics.  After years of singing in cabaret, I've recently returned to the musical theater stage as a performer and director.  But my grand passion now is writing and developing new musicals.    I'm nowthe composer, lyricist, librettist (or co-author) of three new musical theater projects in development.   As Hamlet says, "The readiness is all!"      For more details, click on the "About Me" button above or click here.
I'd love to start a dialogue with any fans of my work  From the links below, you can email me with comments or questions, add your public comments to the guest book, and join my musical lover's email list to receive announcements.

Making new musicals is a joyful experience.  But it is also a long and expensive process, which requires a lot of help from friends -- both old and new.  If you are in a position to help financially in any way, I'm not too proud to say that I'd welcome your assistance.  Please click on the  "How Can I Help?" button above to learn about my specific needs,  or consider simply making a donation by clicking on the button below.    It helps even if you can spare just a little bit -- remember, the way to eat an elephant is: One bite at a time!  Besides, if I wasn't a cockeyed optimist, I wouldn't be writing new musicals!
"Jeff is a talented writer of words and music in an age when the craft of writing a good theatre song has all but disappeared. He has the ability to write songs of sustained humor, which are the most difficult kind of songs to create. He is worthy of attention!"

Interested producers, directors and production companies may obtain copies of the libretti, as hard files or pdf, as well as hard CD's,  upon request.
